Y2Y Summer Conference Adult Track Training
July 11th 10:30 am - 2:45 pm
Ohio Wesleyan University
Adults already registered as conference participants, do not need to register separately for the Adult Track.
Every year at the Youth to Youth Summer Conference, we offer education and skill building opportunities to our adult participants and volunteer staff as part of the overall conference experience. This year, we have decided to open a portion of this training to non-participants.
This is a perfect opportunity for groups that have additional adult leaders that won’t be attending the conference, or for groups that aren’t able to send students this year but still want to take part in the experience and grow their existing skill set.
This training, designed for prevention professionals, school staff, coalition leaders, and other adults that work with teens, will focus on how to facilitate meaningful group discussions and lead educational activities to optimize learning and skill application.
Topics Include:
How to foster an environment conducive to meaningful conversation
The role of connection
Strategies to start and maintain a conversation with teens
The importance of processing
6 components that make the best learning environment
How to deal with difficult situations
The registration fee is $100 for the single day adult track training, which includes a catered lunch. Any adult signed up for this training is also welcome to join our morning keynote youth conference speaker from 9:30 - 10:30 am.
